Frankel a warm order in first-season sire betting
ON the back of a mightily impressive four winners from five runners RaceBets has announced that Frankel has shortened into odds-on favouritism at the head of the champion first-season sire betting market.
Frankel's four winners to date are the John Gosden-trained Cunco, the Richard Fahey-trained Queen Kindly, Roger Charlton's Fair Eva and Frankuus, whom Mark Johnston trained to get off the mark at the first attempt at Haydock on Thursday evening.
Joseph Burke of RaceBets said: "Having been introduced as 2-1 favourite in February, Frankel had drifted out to as big as 6-1 by April 15 following support for numerous other stallions. He remained at 6-1 for a full four weeks until he registered his first winner with Cunco, by which time he shortened to 7-2.
"He regained his mantle as 2-1 favourite following the victory of Fair Eva on Wednesday and has since shortened to odds-on, 4-5, following the victory of Frankuus, who supplied him with a fourth winner from a mere five runners.
"It's plain for all to see that his only other runner, Majoris, is a winner waiting to happen so all in all, it's been an outstanding start to his second career for the outstanding British racehorse of the modern era."
