Huntingdon: chase winner for Ashley Park

CHAMPION HURDLE fourth Ashley Park broke new ground when Fort View became his first handicap chase winner in the Brampton Handicap Chase over 3m at Huntingdon on Monday.

The son of Sadler's Wells has produced to bumper winners and Fort View had scored in hunter chases, but this was a first win for the sire over hurdles or in a chase.

Ashley Park stood at Scarvagh House Stud and raced only four times on the Flat and three times over hurdles. His Champion Hurdle run, behind Istabraq, was his second hurdle start and he was subsequently second in the Christmas Hurdle at Kempton.

With just six runners under National Hunt rules, Ashley Park has sired three winners.
