Forrest and Stanners appointed to DBS board
DONCASTER Bloodstock Sales has announced the appointment of Derek Forrest and George Stanners as company directors.
Forrest joined DBS in 2009 and has worked closely with the Goffs/DBS group chief financial officer. He has been instrumental in computerising the DBS accounting system and harmonising them with Goffs.
He has been appointed as the financial director at DBS.
Stanners started with DBS after school and subsequently spent time working at Ballyhane Stud, Trickledown Stud, Furnace Mill Stud, the TBA, the BHA and Fasig-Tipton, before completing the Irish National Stud Course.
He returned to DBS full-time in 2007, working in the bloodstock department, and he began auctioneering in May of that year. He has since become a member of the DBS inspection team and gathers entries for the horses in training sales.
Stanners is now a regular auctioneer at both Goffs and DBS.
DBS Managing Director Henry Beeby said: "I am delighted to welcome Derek and George to the DBS Board. Both bring a huge enthusiasm to the DBS team and I have little doubt that they will play a key part in the development of the company for many years.
"Derek's work ethic and customer-friendly approach has impressed us all since he joined us three years ago whilst there is little doubt that George's 'can do' attitude and extrovert personality are exactly what is required in this day and age.
"Both are most deserving of this opportunity and I look forward to working with them both in the years to come."
