Forpadydeplasterer holds off Kalahari King to take the Arkle

New 2m star for
Moscow Society

Tuesday: Cheltenham; Arkle Challenge Trophy (G1)

FORPADYDEPLASTERER (7 g Moscow Society - Run Artiste)

SEVEN years after Moscow Flyer won the hearts of Cheltenham regulars with victory in the Arkle Chase, his sire Moscow Society was on the mark again, this time courtesy of a battling success by Forpadydeplasterer.

Injury restricted Moscow Society - an $800,000 yearling purchase - to just two starts on the track including a second place finish in the Queen's Vase.

But he more than made up for that during his long career at stud, siring numerous high-class jumpers including Moscow Flyer, Snowy Morning, Mossy Green, Hold Em and Merchent Paddy.

The son of Nijinsky died at the age of 22 at Ballyvolane Stud in December 2002.

Bred by John Broderick in Ireland, Forpadydeplasterer is the third winner out of the unraced Deep Run mare Run Artiste following Jack Fla (Electric) and Optimistic Run (Moscow Society).

Run Artiste, who is a half-sister to three winners over jumps, has an unnamedtwo-year-old colt by Classic Cliche.
