Footsteps filly tops Buenos Aires auction

JAMBLIQUE, a flashy chestnut two-year-old filly by Coolmore shuttler Footstepsinthesand, topped the A. Bullrich S.A. Sale  of two-year-olds in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on Tuesday.

Sold to Sergio Savi for 69,000 pesos (£10,344/€11,788), the filly was consigned by HarasLa Lagunita.
Out of the unraced Rahy mare Jeitosa, the sale-topper hails from the family of Argentinean Group 1 winners Ice Horse and Ice Point.
Footstepsinthesand, whose first Argentinean crop is represented by eight winners  from 29 starters (27.6 per cent), stands the southern hemisphere season at La Mission stallion station.
Alejandro Miserochi's Haras Santa Ines, breeder of world champion Invasor, consigned the second-highest priced youngster, a colt by leading South American sire Southern Halo who sold for 67,000 pesos (£22,503/€25,882) to Juan Carlos Digliodo.
The bay colt named Elkhan hails from the family of successful dual-hemisphere sire Bernstein.
Twenty-three lots sold for a total  780,000 pesos (£117,009/€133,336), an average of 33,913 (£5,087/€5,792).
