Fontwell: Flemensfirth son looks smart prospect

CAPTAIN KIRKTON'S second hurdle win from as many starts over timber at Fontwell on Sunday suggests he is capable of justifying the €45,000 paid for him at the Derby sale in 2009.

The son of Flemensfirth, sire of Imperial Commander and leading staying novice chaser Time For Rupert, is out of What A Mewsment, by Persian Mews.

She was placed in a point-to-point, but is a sister to the high-class chaser Celestial Gold, and half-sister to high-class hurdler Fiveforthree.

Gary Moore trains the five-year-old, who changed hands for€37,000 as a foal.
