Attraction's Montjeu half-sister heads home

ATTRACTION'S Montjeu half-sister was one of several high-priced lots to be bought in, when knocked down to Michael Bell - acting for her breeder the Duke of Roxburghe - at 200,000gns with James Wigan the underbidder.

"She had an abscess in her foot so had to miss the October Yearling Sale," said Roxburghe. "I thought it was worth seeing how the market valued her, I decided on a figure and if she made it she would have been sold. But she was a gorgeous filly and a half-sister to a champion.

"It's still being discussed where she'll go into training but whatever happens I'll be keeping a share in her."

Attraction has a yearling filly named Elation in training with Mark Johnston, a Montjeu filly foal and is in foal to Pivotal.

"Her first two foals are very correct and their legs didn't take after their mother," he added. "In fact, Elation is a dead-ringer for Attraction in every way except for the legs."

Meanwhile, Attraction's dam Flirtation had a Motivator filly this year but is not in foal. "We have had 10 filly foals and only four colts this year so some of the fillies will be going to the sales next autumn," he added.
