First winner
for Saint Liam

US HORSE of the Year Saint Liam was represented by his first winner on Wednesday when Draw A Blank won a 5f maiden specialweight at Presque Isle Downs in the US.

Bred by Daniel Ryan in Pennsylvania, Draw A Blank is out of the Irish-bred Be My Guest mare Forget About It and is a half-sister to three winners including the Group 2-placed Parole Board. She was purchased for $25,000 by trainer Tim Hamm at last year's Keeneland September Sale.

Draw A Blank is one of a 81-strong first crop for Saint Liam, who was put down due to a paddock accident in 2006 following a single season at Lane's End Farm in Kentucky.

The son of Saint Ballado was successful in four Grade 1 races including the Breeders' Cup Classic.
