First winner for Norfolk hero Russian Valour

GROUP 3 Norfolk Stakes hero Russian Valour was represented by his first winner on Wednesday when Ninja captured a 5f debutantes race at Naples.

The colt is one of just eight foals from the first crop of Russian Valour. The son of Fasliyev has only three foals to represent him this year but covered 48 mares last season from his base in Sicily.

Russian Valour was a high-class and precocious two-year-old for trainer Mark Johnston, taking the Norfolk Stakes from Kheleyf and the Listed National Stakes.

After failing to recapture his early form as a three-year-old, Russian Valour was purchased by Federico Barberini for €27,000 at the Goffs February Sale and transferred to Italy.

Bred by Agricola dell'Olmo, Ninjais the first winner out of Entretis, a prolific-winning daughter of Entrepreneur.
