First winner for Grade 2 scorer Woke Up Dreamin

GRADE 2 winner Woke Up Dreamin was represented by his first winner on Sunday when Waking Up won a 4 1/2 f maiden claiming race at Calder by a comfortable four and 3/4 lengths.

Bred in Kentucky by Millennium Farms, who stands Woke Up Dreamin, Waking Up is the first foal out of multiple sprint winner Native Princess, a daughter of Wild Zone who is ahalf-sister to Grade 3 winner Tank.

The colt races for a partnership comprising of trainer Steve Towne and Tony Bowling.

Woke Up Dreamin retired to stud as the winner of six of 16 starts including the Grade 2 SmileSprint Handicap and Grade 2 True North Breeders' Cup Handicap, both over 6f. Waking Up is one of 45  first crop two-year-olds by the son of Holy Bull, who stood the past season at $5,000.
