First winner for Grade
1 scorer Street Hero

GRADE 1 winner Street Hero sired his first winner on Sunday when his first runner, Street Magic, won a 4 1/2 furlong race at Calder Race Casino & Race Course. It was an impressive performance by the Monarch Stables homebred, who drew clear to win by five-and-a-quarter lengths.

In the process, she became the sixth winner from as many as foals of racing age out of Choral Belle, a daughter of Numerous.

Street Hero was a top-class two-year-old, winning the Grade 1 Norfolk Stakes at Santa Anita before running third to Midshipman in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile. Injury forced the son of Street Cry into retirement at three and he stood his first season in 2009 at Vinery in Kentucky at a private fee. He is standing the 2012 season for $5,000.
