First winner for Grade 1 hero Taste Of Paradise

GRADE 1-winning sprinter Taste Of Paradise was represented by his first winner on Wednesday when Justamatteroftime won a $36,000 maiden special weight by seven-and-a-quarter lengths at Presque Isle Downs in the US.

Bred by Foal Run Farm, Julia A. Gantt and Scotty L. Abbott in Kentucky, Justamatteroftime is out of the winning Green Dancer mare Green Mill and a half-brother to a winner.

Owners June Riley and Vernon Marcum paid just $1,000 for the gelding at lasy year's Keeneland September Sale.

After capturing the Grade 2 San Diego Handicap over 1m as a four-year-old, Taste Of Paradise progressed into a leading dirt sprinter, taking a further three Graded stakes races led by the Grade 1 Vosburgh Stakes.

The son of Conquistador Cielo was also a head second to Silver Train in the Breeders' Cup Sprint.

Taste Of Paradise stood the past season for $6,000 at Crestwood Farm in Kentucky.
