First winner for freshman Horse Greeley

CLAIBORNE Farm stallion Horse Greeley sired his first winner on Saturday when Cowgirl Greeley broke her maiden by two-and-three-quarter lengths over 5f at Canterbury Park.

Bred by Joel Kligman in Kentucky, the chestnut filly is the ninth winner out of the winning On to Glory mare Sporty Card and a half-sister to stakes winners Jersey Giant and Salary Drive.

Horse Greeley won two of six starts led by the Grade 2 Del Mar Futurity. He also ran third in the 2007 Grade 1 Malibu Stakes.

The son of Mr Greeley has 58 juveniles in his first crop and stood the past season at Claiborne Farm in Kentucky for $5,000.
