First winner for BC Mile hero Miesque's Approval

BREEDERS' Cup Mile winner Miesque's Approval became the first South African freshman sire off the mark when Top Of The Chocs won his debut over 5f at Clairwood on Sunday by an impressive four lengths.

Bred by Backworth Stud, the colt is out of Group 3 winner Candy Box and a half-brother to Group 1 winner Chocolicious.

Top Of The Chocs is one of 77 first-crop foals by Miesque's Approval, who stands at Highdown Stud in South Africa. The son of Miesque's Son enjoyed his finest moment on the track when defeating the likes of Aragorn and Araafa to win the 2006 Breeders' Cup Mileat Churchill Downs in colours of Live Oak Plantation. He was also successful in the Grade 2 Maker's Mark Mile.
