First mare scanned
in foal to Pour Moi
DERBY hero PourMoi has had his first mare scanned in foal, the Fred Darling Stakes runner-up Glen Rosie.
The resulting foal will be bred along similar lines to Montjeu's first ever stakes winner, the 2004 Listed Washington Singer Stakes scorer Kings Quay who heads the two stakes runners produced by Glen Rosie. The daughter of Mujtahid was purchased by Newsells Park Stud for 320,000gns in 2001 and is the dam of three winners.
"We're delighted with the response to Pour Moi," said Coolmore's Christy Grassick. "His book reads like a "Who's Who" of the best breeders in Europe with the likes of Prince Khalid Abdullah, James Wigan, Maria Niarchos, George Strawbridge, James Hanly, Jim Bolger, Pat O'Kelly, Sonia Rogers, Kirsten Rausing, Anthony Oppenheimer, Moyglare Stud and Gestut Ammerland all sending him quality mares."
Pour Moi's success in last year's Derby, in which he burst from the back of the field to snatch victory under Mickael Barzalona, was the highlight of the colt's five-race career, which also included a win in the Prix Greffulhe. The son of Montjeu stands at Coolmore for €20,000.
