First foals on the ground for Hedgeholme duo
HEDGEHOLME Stud duo Arabian Gleam and Mullionmileanhour are the latest young sires with their first foals on the ground.
The first foal by Group 2 winner Arabian Gleam is a filly born at Andrew Spalding's Hedgeholme Stud out of Lawless Bridget. The daughter of Alnasr Alwasheekis the dam of five winners including the Listed-placed juvenile Fred's Lad.
The tough Arabian Gleam won a trio of Group 2 races for Jeremy Noseda, namely two renewals of the Park Stakes at Doncaster and the 2009 Challenge Stakes. The only son of Kyllachy at stud in Britain or Ireland, Arabian Gleam stands for £2,000.
Richard Tucker's Nelson Farm Stud in Devon welcomed the first arrival by Mullionmileanhour, a colt born on Friday. He is out of the Listed-placed Peyto Princess, a Bold Arrangement half-sister to the smart sprinter Blue Iris.
A talented but lightly-raced sprinter, Mullionmileanhour won a Kempton maiden on his debut at two and ran Equiano to a short head when second in the Listed Abernant Stakes at four. The son of Mull Of Kintyre stands for £1,250.
