Henrythenavigator gets the better of New Approach in the 2,000 Guineas

First foals from US crop of Henrythenavigator

HENRYTHENAVIGATOR'S first foals havearrived, and they include a colt out of the four-time US Grade 1 winner Jewel Princess.

Coolmore's stallion son of Kingmambo won his first four starts as a three-year-old, all at Group 1 level - both the English and Irish Guineas, the St James's Palace Stakes and the Sussex Stakes.

His dam Sequoyah, a daughter of Sadler's Wells, won the Group 1 Moyglare Stud stakes as a juvenile and was fourth in the Irish 1,000 Guineas and Irish Oaks.

Standing at Ashford Stud in Kentucky, his 2010 fee of $40,000 was cut from $65,000 in his first year. His first book of mares numbered 155, among them the dams of Zenyatta, Smarty Jones, Big Brown and the quadruple Grade 1 winner Rags To Riches.

Henrythenavigator covered a further 143 mares in Australia last year, where he commanded A$38,500 per cover.
