First foal on the ground for Super Saver
THE first reported foal by Kentucky Derby winner Super Saver is a chestnut filly who was born at the weekend at the stallion's home, WinStar Farm in Kentucky.
Bred in partnership by WinStar Farm LLC and MR Capital, the filly is out of the High Yield mare Yield to Faith.
Super Saver retired to WinStar Farm as the winner of $1,889,766, a figure boosted by his authoritative win in the Kentucky Derby over Paddy O'Prado. The son of Maria's Mon also set a new stakes record when successful in the Grade 2 Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes.
Super Saver covered 145 mares his first season at stud. He is standing the 2012 season for $20,000 stands and nurses.
