Ffestiniog: Elite Racing Club's most prolific producer at stud

First foal of 2010 for Elite Racing Club

ELITE RACING CLUB has had its first foal of the year at Oak Lodge Stud in Kentucky. Oceans Apart, twice successful for the Club as a juvenile, produced a dark brown filly foal by Tale Of The Cat on Wednesday evening and mother and daughter are doing well.

This is the second foal out of Oceans Apart who has a yearling filly by Giant's Causeway at Oak Lodge. Oceans Apart herself is the only mare out of Ffestiniog, the Club's most successful broodmare, and dam of the pattern race winners Eisteddfod, Boston Lodge and Border Patrol.

Elite Racing's manager Matthew Budden said: "We are delighted that our first foal of the year has been born andthis marks the start of a very busy period for us.

"We have six further broodmares due to foal, including a full sister to Soviet Song (in foal to Manduro) and Ffestiniog, whose foal by Oasis Dream is due at the end of March."

Elite's broodmares are split between Kirtlington Stud in Oxfordshire, Maurice Camacho's Star Cottage in Malton and Oak Lodge Stud in Ireland and Kentucky.
