First foal by Group 1 winner Siyouni born

THE first foal by Group 1 winner Siyouni was born on Saturday at Haras du Mezeray.

The bay filly is the second foal out of Fair West, a winning Gone West sister to the Group 2-placed Kalgoorlie.

The Aga Khan's Siyouni was rated the best French two-year-old of his generation thanks to an authoritative victory over Pounced in the Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere. He also won the Listed Prix La Fleche and ran third in the Prix du Moulin to Fuisse.

The son of Pivotal covered a full book of mares in 2011 including Taille De Guepe, the dam of Cirrus Des Aigles, the daughters of Group 1 winners Porlezza and Zalaiyka and the half sisters to Natagora, Monsun and Bachelor Duke.

Siyouni, who is out of a half-sister to successful French stallion Slickly, stands alongside Sinndar at Haras de Bonneval for €7,000.
