First foal born by Newsells Park's Equiano

THE first foal born by dual King's Stand Stakes winner Equiano is a filly out of the Listed winner Clifton Dancer, who was foaled at Tweenhills Farm & Stud on Saturday.

David Redvers, Tweenhills' stud manager said: "She is a correct, attractive filly with plenty of presence. We're very pleased with her."

Julian Dollar, general manager of Newsells Park Stud, said: "We are delighted to hear that Equiano's first foal is healthy and correct, and we look forward to seeingmore of his foals over the forthcoming months.

"With the incredible success of Acclamation and his leading first season sire son, Dark Angel, Equiano's sire line is on fire at the moment and as the fastest and highest ratedhorse from this sire line, it is no surprise that Equiano has yet another full book in 2012."

Equiano has just returned to Newsells Park Stud after shuttling to Swettenham Stud in Australia, where he covered nearly 100 mares. Hewill be on parade at the TBA Stallion Parade at Tattersalls on Thursday February 2, as will Newsells Park Stud's other resident sire, dual Group 1 winner Mount Nelson.

Equiano stands for £8,000 while Mount Nelson, whose first crop are two-year-olds, stands for £6,000.
