First European Flat winner for Tikkanen

GLEBE House Stud's Tikkanen was representedby his first European Flat winner on Friday evening when Tick Tock Lover scored in division one of the 1m juvenile maiden at Kempton.

Bred by Mrs R. I. Nelson out of the Pursuit Of Love mare Ivory's Promise, the Jo Crowley-trained colt made it third time lucky by holding Splash Point by a length-and-a-half.

Breeders' Cup Turf and Turf Invitational Classic hero Tikkanen initially stood at Arrow  Stud in Japan, where the best of his progeny was Group 3 winner Success Strain. The son of Cozzene, who is also a brother to successful jumps sire Turgeon, was repatriated to Europe in 2004 to stand at Jeremy Maxwell's Glebe House Stud in Northern Ireland.

The 19-year-old has sired four jumps winners in Britain and Ireland to date from a handful of runners.
