Redoute's Choice: stood two covering seasons at Haras de Bonneval
Redoute's Choice sires first Euro-bred winner
DEEP INSIDE provided Redoute's Choice with his first winner from the first of his two northern hemisphere-conceived crops in the opening race at Compiegne on Saturday.
The Gianluca Bietolini-trained filly, who was getting off the mark at the second attempt, is the sixth foal produced by the Sadler's Wells mare Well Spoken, which makes Deep Inside a close relation to the dual Group 3 winner Chrysanthemum.
A daughter of Danehill Dancer, Chrysanthemum is also the dam of Cunco, the first foal - and first winner - sired by Frankel, who went on to finish a close third in the Listed Chesham Stakes at Royal Ascot.
Deep Inside is also a close relation to the Listed-placed Spoken To Me and a half-sister to the 1m3f winner Sweet Cassandra.
Having already taken the southern hemisphere by storm, Redoute's Choice - who covered a limited number of mares to northern hemisphere time while on duty at John Messara's Arrowfield Stud - stood at the Aga Khan's Haras de Bonneval during the 2013 and 2014 breeding seasons.
In addition to the progeny conceived while at Haras de Bonneval, the Redoute's Choice line has been represented by Elzaam, one of the runners conceived in the southern hemisphere to northern hemisphere time.
Elzaam, a Listed-winning three-year-old who also hit the frame in the 2011 Golden Jubilee Stakes, now stands at Ballyhane Stud in County Carlow, and has made a bright start with his first crop of runners having recorded six winners.
Redoute's Choice continues to exert his influence in his native Australia, with one of his most promising sire sons, Not A Single Doubt, recording another stakes success with Into The Red claiming Group 3 honours at Eagle Farm on Saturday.
The next opportunity to see one of Redoute's Choice northern hemisphere-conceived progeny race in Britain could come on Friday, with the Charlie Appleby-trained Celestial Spheres holding entries at Haydock and Sandown.
