Colt for Grade 1 winner Intercontinental

BREEDERS' Cup Filly & Mare Turf heroine Intercontinental on Wednesday gave birth to a colt by First Defence at her owner-breeder Khalid Abdullah's Juddmonte Farms in Kentucky.

The new arrival fuses the influences of two of Juddmonte's most prestigious families.

First Defence is out of Grade 1 winner Honest Lady, a daughter of bluehen Toussaud who also produced Chester House and Empire Maker, while Intercontinental is by Danehill and out of Hasili, making her a sister to Banks Hill, Cacique, Champs Elysees and Dansili, and a three-parts sister to Heat Haze.

Intercontinental's first foal is a three-year-old filly by Empire Maker named Mascarene.
