First-crop Woodctoe winner for Sixties Icon

SIXTIES Icon added to his burgeoning reputation on Saturday when providing the game winner of the Listed Woodcote Stakes, Chilworth Icon. The Mick Channon-trained colt is the first stakes winner for his sire, who is the second European freshman to get off the stakes mark following Tamayuz, the sire of Thursday's impressive National Stakes winner Sir Prancealot.

Sixties Icon was the first of this season's European freshman stallions to sire a winner when Vanessa won at Musselburgh in April. Since then, he has sired three further winners - all of whom have been trained by Mick Channon - including Effie B, who has been twice Listed-placed.

The son of Galileo, who won the 2006 St Leger, stands at Norman Court Stud for £4,500.

Chilworth Icon was bred by Norman Court Stud - also the breeder of Samitar - out of the dual juvenile winner Tamara Moon. He is the first named foal out of the mare, who is a half-sister to two winners and descends from Ocean's Answer, also the ancestress of Group 1 winners Pas De Reponse and Green Tune.

Chilworth Icon is the first stakes winner produced out of a mare by Acclamation.
