SNOWDAY (c Falco - Oceanique by Forest Wildcat)

Bred by Wertheimer et Frere in France

SNOWDAY became Falco's first winner last month at Le Croise-Laroche and handed his sire another landmark moment on Sunday by becoming his first stakes winner when successful in the Prix du Bois.

The colt was always prominent under Olivier Peslier and crossed the line a length ahead of To My Valentine (by Dyhim Diamomd). Sage Melody, a first-crop daughter of the Aga Khan's Prix d'Ispahan winner Sageburg, took third.

Snowday is trained by Carlos Laffon-Parias on behalf of his breeder Wertheimer et Frere, the connections for whom Falco won the 2008 Poule d'Essai des Poulains by three lengths from Rio De La Plata. Falco ran twice following his Classic triumph, when unplaced in the St James's Palace Stakes and Prix Jean Prat, before retiring to Haras d'Etreham where he stands for €7,000.

Snowday is his only winner from five runners to date.

Snowday hails from a family which has served the Wertheimer family extremely well; he is the first foal out of Oceanique, an unplaced Forest Wildcat half-sister to another Poule d'Essai des Poulains winner in Green Tune as well as two high-class two-year-olds in Pas De Response and Didyme.

They descend from Ocean's Answer, a sister to Storm Bird who is also the ancestress of this season's Woodcote Stakes winner Chilworth Icon.

Oceanique has a colt foal by King's Best.
