Fee reduction for Phoenix Reach

NATIONAL STUD stallion Phoenix Reach has had his advertised fee reduced from £3,500 to £2,500.

Andrew Christou, the owner of the triple Group 1-winning son of Alhaarth, said: "In the first year Phoenix Reach was at stud, we offered breeders' incentives.

"But in the current economic climate, we thought it was more appropriate to make a significant reduction to his fee. We are also willing to offer concessions to certain mares, and will help out with transport costs."

The oldest crop by Phoenix Reach are yearlings this year. "They were cracking," Christou said. "Compact and solid-boned, like their sire. And his second crop of foals are looking even nicer!"

Trained by Andrew Balding, Phoenix Reach won five races, including three Group 1 races on three different continents: the Canadian International at three, the Hong Kong Vase at four, and the Dubai Sheema Classic at five.
