Fasig-Tipton launches 'Juvenile Jackpot'

GRADUATES of this year's Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Select Yearling Sale will have the chance earn an additional $100,000 should they become the first horse out of the sale to win a Graded stakes race at the Saratoga meeting next season.

Named the 'Juvenile Jackpot' and launched in association with the New York Racing Association (NYRA),the award will be doubled to $200,000 in 2011 if not won during the first year.

"The ‘Juvenile Jackpot' rewards owners with Fasig-Tipton Selected Saratoga Sales grads for success at the premier race meet in the world," said Fasig-Tipton President Boyd Browning

"The program represents another innovative collaboration between NYRA and Fasig-Tipton to showcase the quality of yearlings that pass through the Saratoga sales ring."

Earlier this year, the NYRA and Fasig-Tipton announced the launch of the Fasig-Tipton Festival of Racing, a joint venture designed to emphasise the partnership between racing and yearling sales.

Included in the festival, which runs on August 8-9, are a variety of events such as a celebrity race call and best-turned-out contests as well as the Grade 1 Whitney Handicap and Test Stakes.
