US stallion
Sefapiano dead

SEFAPIANO, sire of Grade 2 winner Jonesboro, died of a heart attack on January 2 at Landlock Equine Center in Louisiana at the age of 21.

The son of Fappiano, who won two races and ran placed twice in four starts, is the sire of the winners of over $14.5 million from 14 crops of racing. A total of 22 of his progeny have scored at stakes level, led by $1.4 million earner Jonesboro - a son of US champion Mom's Command - and the Graded stakes-winning milers Rolling Seas and Humoristic.

As well as Louisiana, Sefapiano spent five seasons in Kentucky and four seasons in Michigan.
