Dream Ahead confirmed for Ballylinch in 2012

BALLYLINCH Stud manager John O'Connor today said it was Dream Ahead's "exceptional speedand precocity" that led to the operation's purchase of Sunday's Prix de la Foret winner Dream Ahead, as reported in Monday's Racing Post.

O'Connor confirmed that Dream Ahead will begin his stallion career at the County Kilkenny stud next year. The possibility of another start this year is under discussion by connections.

As is their usual practice, Ballylinch will syndicate part of the horse among leading breeders. Khalifa Dasmal, whose silks Dream Ahead has carried with distinction, will retain an interest.

"We are delighted that Mr Dasmal is staying on as a partner, he has been a very straight and honourable man to deal with throughout the sale process," O'Connor said.

"I've been following the horse for a year now," he continued. "I thought his two-year-old performances were outstanding and the official handicappers agreed, rating him equal to Frankel."
