Warwick: Sajwah leads home one-two for Excel

EXCEED And Excel is noted for siring precocious juveniles and posted his fifth two-year-old winner of the campaign on Tuesday when Sajwah led home a one-two for her sire in the 5 1/2f maiden at Yarmouth.

The Shadwell homebred, who was a second juvenile winner within 24 hours for Barry Hills, had to fight off the challenge of Supreme Quest to score in cosy fashion by three-quarters of a length.

Sajwah is the second winner fromas many foals out of the Listed-placed Tahrir following Tamaathul, a smart son of Tiger Hill rated 108. A daughter of Linamix, Tahrir is a sister to Listed winners Green Channel and Mister Charm and out of the Listed-winning sprinter Miss Sacha.

Exceed And Excel is standing the current season for £12,000 at Dalham Hall Stud in Newmarket. The son of Danehill has been represented by stakes winners Nideeb and Waveband so far this year in Europe while his haul of winners in Australia is led by the dual Group 1-winning two-year-old Helmet.

His other two-year-olds winners this season include impressive Leicester scorer Pyman's Theory and last week's impressive Nottingham winner Dozy.

THE Barry Hills-trained pair Ektibaas and Fityaan provided Shadwell sire Haafhd with a Warwick double when taking the 1m handicap and 7f maiden.

Ektibaas was bred by Shadwell out of Aspen Leaves, a sister to Preakness Stakes winner Timber Country and half-sister to high-class sprinters Bianconi and Hamas.

Usk Valley Stud bred Fityaan out of Italian Group 3 winner Welsh Diva, a sister to smart miler Trans Island.
