English buyer snaps up $330,000 Princess Janie
Princess Janie became Tuesday’s session topper thus far at the Keeneland January horses of all ages sale when she sold to Lincoln Collins for $330,000. Collins bought her for an undisclosed English client.
“She was very fast, which is what we want,” said Collins, who added his client was looking to breed sprinters. “She was the right article in the sale for us. We had actually tried to buy her once before.”
The seven-year-old Elusive Quality mare was offered in foal to Tiznow by Four Star Sales, agent. She is a half-sister to graded stakes winner Raylene. “It was a fair price,” said Collins. “I am not elated with the price, and I am not disappointed with it.”
Princess Janie will be bred in the US this spring before being sent to England.
