Danehill sires dominate new Australian season

DESPITE Oratorio siring the winner of the A$1 million Golden Rose Stakes at Rosehill at the weekend, the valuable victory has not taken him to the top of the Australian sires' table.

The flying starts to the new Australian season made by Redoute's Choice and Fastnet Rock have denied the Coolmore sire that honour, who is currently in third.

Redoute's Choice's outstanding start to 2011/12, which sees him on top of the Australian sires' list with 33 winners, three Group winners and prize-money earnings already of more than A$1.4 million - all in the first 41 days of the season.

The sire that is dominating the stallions' table is sire of sire Danehill, being sire of the three stallions mentioned above as well as of Commands, who is currently in fifth place.

Encosta De Lago, in fourth, is a son of another former Coolmore sire, Fairy King.
