Coolmore cut Encosta price; Fastnet fee doubles

COOLMOORE Australia has announced fees for 15 of its southern hemisphere stallions. While Encosta De Lago tops the list at A$143,000 (£86,358, €98,536), his fee has been reduced by A$77,000 from last year.

After a strong run of results Danehill's son Fastnet Rock's fee has more than doubled to A$137,500 (£82,780,  €94,402)  from $60,500.

For his first season in Australia, having previously covered in New Zealand, High Chaparral's fee has been set at A$88,000 (£53,168, €60,637). This compares to a European fee of €15,000.

A fee for Starspangledbanner, who will take up stallion duties after a European campaign with Aidan O'Brien, has yet to be set. "He has thrilled Aidan O’Brien since arriving in Ireland and we look forward to him joining us at Coolmore Australia after what we hope will be a successful European campaign," said Coolmore Australia's general manager Michael Kirwan.
