Soviet Song to return to Oasis Dream in 2011

OASIS DREAM has been selected by the Elite Racing Club as this season’s mate for its multiple Group 1-winning mare Soviet Song.

The club’s homebred daughter of Marju is the dam of a two-year-old colt by Oasis Dream named Soviet Dream, who is in training with James Fanshawe, which was influential in the decision to return Soviet Song.

“We’re very pleased with Soviet Dream,” said Matthew Budden, racing manager of the Elite Racing Club. “He’s a very nice colt, everything that we could have hoped for from her first foal. Oasis Dream is a very good stallion and doing particularly well.”

Soviet Song has not enjoyed the best luck at stud so far, returning barren to Galileo and Oasis Dream in 2008 and 2010
and aborting her 2010 progeny by Raven’s Pass.

“We’re following a tested route with her this time and trying to
keep things as simple as we can,” said Budden.

Soviet Song retired as the winner of nine races, among them five Group 1s, and over £1.6 million in earnings. She boards with the Elite Racing Club’s other mares at Kirtlington Stud.
