Soviet Song: now has her first foal at foot, a colt by Oasis Dream

Soviet Song produces an Oasis Dream colt foal

ELITE RACING Club's five-time Group 1 winner Soviet Song has produced her first foal at Kirtlington Stud, a colt by Oasis Dream.

She was retired from racing in 2006 after finishing second in the Sun Chariot Stakes but unfortunately did not conceive in 2007. A year's rest produced the required results last spring.

Elite Racing Club's racing and breeding manager Matthew Budden said: "We are delighted that Soviet Song has produced a healthy and strong first foal. There was obviously always the worry that after so many years in training we would struggle to get her in foal last year but this could not have worked out better."

Soviet Song is now booked to visit Raven's Pass while her dam, Kalinka, who had a late Dansili filly foal last year andhas been rested for this year, is going to New Approach.

Soviet Song's sister Sister Act is also due to Oasis Dream and another half-sister, Baralinka, is in foal to Nayef.

Another of the club's mares, Ffestiniog, dam of the Group winners Boston Lodge and Eisteddfod, is expecting a foal by Green Desert at the end of February.

Oceans Apart, who boards at Indian Creek Stud in Kentucky, is now the dam this year of a filly foal by Giant's Causeway. She will visit Tale Of The Cat.
