BC Mile hero Artie Schiller off the mark

BREEDERS' Cup Mile winner Artie Schiller was represented by his first winner on Friday when Anne's Beauty won a C$68,400 maiden special weight over 6 1/2f at Woodbine in Canada going away by two-and-a-quarter lengths.

It was the second start for Anne's Beauty, who had finished third over 7f on her debut in maiden company at Woodbine last month. A $30,000 Keeneland September yearling purchase, the Paul Attard-trained filly was bred in Kentucky by Richard Forbush and Doug Oliver. She is the second winner from as many starters out of LuckyStreak, a daughter of Sea Wall.

Artie Schiller retired to stud as the winner of ten of 22 starts and nearly $2.1 million in earnings. The son of El Prado has 173 two-year-olds to run for him this year and stood the past season at Pauls Mill in Kentucky for $15,000.
