Tattersalls Wall Box renovation completed

TATTERSALLS has announced the completion of its seven-figure redevelopment of the Wall Box stabling area at Park Paddocks.

The Wall Box area is on the side of a hill, and before renovation was renowned by vendors and purchasers for presentingdifficulties when showing horses.

Improvements made to the site include the creation of level showing areas, with each of the five blocks of stables being accompanied by even grass and gravel suraces, better drainage to deal with rainfall and surface water runoff, and a total of 36 tack boxes.

Access to the Wall Boxes, which have been increased in number from 94 to 98, has been improved with a new opening from Lower Sale Paddock. A new canteen has been built with alarger seating capacity of 90 and wireless internet access.

Tattersalls chairman Edmond Mahony said: "The new Wall Boxes are a spectacular improvement on their predecessors and have been praised unanimously by all who have seen them since their completion.

"The whole area has been enhanced in the redevelopment but the most important improvement is the creation of level showing areas.

"The old showing areas followed the difficult natural gradients and were far from ideal and although the project has required considerable investment, it demonstrates our wholehearted and continued commitment to providing the best possible working environment for all of our clients.

"It is particularly appropriate that the first opportunity to showcase the new Wall Boxes will be at Book 1 of the October Yearling Sale which is Europe's premier yearling sale."
