Running Stag
sold to Korea

RUNNING Stag, a multiple Grade 2 winner for former Epsom-based trainer Philip Mitchell, has been sold to stand at Taepyung Mogjang in Korea.

The 15-year-old son of Cozzene stood was scheduled to stand this season at Judice Farm in Louisiana for $5,000.  He has also spent part of his stud career at Adena Springs South in Florida and Turf Express Stud in Texas.

Bred by Juddmonte Farms, Running Stag won 7 of 37 starts including a trio of Grade 2 races during his various US raids. From six crops of racing age, he has been represented by six stakes winners including Grade 3 scorer Yankee Monarch.

Joining Running Stag in Korea is Grade 1 Super Derby winner Ecton Park, who will stand at Isidore Farm. The son of Forty Niner has stood the whole of his stud career to date at Wintergreen Farm in Kentucky, latterly for $7,500.

Ecton Park is the sire of nine stakes winners from five crops of racing age including last season's Grade 2 Swaps Breeders'Cup Stakes Tres Borrachos.
