EBF races to carry British stallion names

TO RECOGNISE the contribution made to prize-money by British stallion farms, the British Trustees of the European Breeders’ Fund have organised the renaming of many EBF races to carry the title ‘British Stallion Studs Supporting British Racing’.

BEBF stallion owners are to be given the chance to name an EBF race after their stallions. The first such race will be the Langleys Solicitors EBF Shirocco Fillies’ Stakes at York today.

With the support of British stallion owners and managers, the EBF has provided funds totalling £24.9 million towards British racing since 1983.

The Irish EBF will again provide funds for a number of EBF races in Great Britain during 2011 which amount to€80,000 towards 15 races.
