Meydan: Group 3 win for half-brother to Reset

AFTER Mahbooba easily won the Listed UAE 1,000 Guineas, Dynamic Blitz made it a black-type double for Australian-breds at Meydan on Thursday with a fluent victory in the 6f Group 3 Al Shindagha Sprint sponsored by Etisalat.

Trained in Hong Kong by Ricky Yiu, Dynamic Blitz is a son of Darley's former US-Australia shuttler Elusive Quality. The sire is best known for big-race stars Quality Road, Raven's Pass and Smarty Jones.

Dynamic Blitz is a half-brother to another Darley sire in Reset, an Australian-bred son of Zabeel who won the Australian Guineas and Futurity Stakes, and formerly shuttled to Dalham Hall Stud. Reset's best European progeny are Listed winner Saxford and useful handicapper Set The Trend.

So Assertive, another Zabeel half-brother to Dynamic Blitz, won the 1m2f Group 3 Chairman's Handicap at Doomben at three.

The brothers' dam, the Zeditave mare Assertive Lass, won two Group 1 races, the Coolmore Classic and Flight Stakes, in Australia, and is a sister to Australian champion juvenile colt Assertive Lad.

Dynamic Blitz's third dam is the American-bred mare Fast Approach, who also produced 1983 Flower Bowl Handicap winner First Approach (in turn dam of Grade 1-placed Alice Springs), plus top-class performers Last Approach and Summer Fling.
