Dynaformer filly emerges as Oaks contender

LINGFIELD Oaks Trial winner Dyna Waltz charged down odds-on favourite Timepiece to pave the way for a place in the Epsom line-up.

Market leader for the Epsom Classic before the race, the Henry Cecil-trained Timepiece, was second. She is a half-sister to Musidora Stakes winner Passage Of Time and Father Time, who won last year's King Edward VII Stakes.

Dyna Waltz is out of a Classic winner, Poule d'Essai des Pouliches heroine Valentine Waltz, herself out of a half-sister to Last Tycoon.

The winner's sire Dynaformer also produced Rainbow View, who last year started favourite in the 1,000 Guineas and was a leading fancy for the Oaks for the same connections of owner George Strawbridge and trainer John Gosden. The stallion supplied them with a Classic winner when Lucarno landed the 2007 St Leger.
