D'Funnybone to standat Vinery New York

VINERY New York will stand five-time Grade 2 winner D'Funnybone next year.

The  four-year-old colt is a son of the ForestWildcat stallion D'Wildcat, who stands at Vinery Florida, and is out of the winning Woodman mare Elbow.

"We are very pleased to add D' Funnybone to our New York stallion roster," said Vinery president Tom Ludt. "This horse was one of the best two-year-olds of his generation and was an outstanding three-year-old."

D'Funnybone was a debut 7 ¼-length winner atCalder at two before going on two win a brace of Grade 2 races over 7f at two - the Saratoga Special by over ten lengths and the Belmont Futurity Stakes by nearly five lengths.

He added three more Grade 2 events over 7f to his resume at three: the Hutcheson Stakes, the Swale Stakes and the Woody Stephens Stakes.

D' Funnybone, who had been entered in the Fasig-Tipton November Sale, will stand the 2012 season at a fee of $3,500.
