Dubawi filly foal for top racemare Dar Re Mi

TOP-CLASS racemare Dar Re Mi delivered her fourth foal, a Dubawi filly, on Sunday.

The daughter of Singspiel will return to Darley's flagship stallion in the coming weeks.

Dar Re Mi, a daughter of Watership Down Stud foundation mare Darara, retired to the paddocks after a stellar career including victories in the Group 1 Pretty Polly Stakes, Yorkshire Oaks and Dubai Sheema Classic.

The ten-year-old mare, who was bred by her owners Lord and Lady Lloyd-Webber, also has a juvenile filly by Dubawi who is due to be trained by John Gosden and a Frankel yearling colt. Her first foal De Treville, by Oasis Dream, could be aimed at this year's Classics by trainer Andre Fabre after selling at Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale for 850,000gns.

The stud's general manager Simon Marsh said: “Dar Re Mi was an exceptional race filly and has already proven herself to be an exciting broodmare.

“We are very pleased with her Dubawi foal. She is a sister to our two-year-old So Mi Dar, who looks a lovely prospect and is due to enter training shortly.”

Dar Re Mi's newest studmate The Fugue, an equally talented performer on the track, has been scanned in foal to Dubawi.

“The Fugue has done terrifically well since returning to the stud and we are delighted she has scanned in foal to Dubawi," said Marsh of the Dansili mare.

“Dubawi is a wonderful sire and we felt he would suit The Fugue.”
