LITTLE Libretto became the first winner for Librettist when edging out stable-mate Bajan Bullet in the novice race at Nottingham on Wednesday.

The David Evans-trained filly was making her second start after finishing an encouraging fifth to Chiswick Bay in the Brocklesby ten days ago. She is the only runner to date by Librettist, a Group 1-winning half-brother to Dubai Destination.

Bred by Agricola Dell 'Olmo in Ireland, Little Libretto is the first foal out of Sharadayna, an unraced Priolo granddaughter of Prix Vermeille winner Sharaya. She was sold for €7,000 to agent Peter Doyle at last year's Tattersalls Ireland September Yearling Sale.

Librettist retired to Dalham Hall Stud in Newmarket as the winner of seven races including the Prix Jacques le Marois and Prix du Moulin. In 2009, the son of Danzig was transferred to Haras du Logis in France, where he is standing this season for €7,000.
