Eight sell at quiet
SGA Breeze Up

ONLY eight of the 26 lots to pass through the ring were sold at the SGA Breeze Up Sale at Pisa on Saturday.

A significantly smaller catalogue contributed to a 57 per cent decline in aggregate to €73,000. However, the average and median also suffered notable reverses, dropping 46 per cent and 37 per cent to €9,125 and €7,500 respectively. The only bright spot was the clearance rate, which increased by 17 per cent to 31 per cent.

In contrast to last year, when a Deputy Commander filly headed proceedings at €60,000, it took abid of just €16,500 for a Dubai Destination filly to top the sale.

Grizzetti Galoppo signed for the filly, who is out of the Group 3 winner Baila Salsa and offered to resolve an account.

Several lots earlier, Ck Martin Tour paid €15,000 for a daughter of second crop sire Denon out of the winning Charnwood Forest mare Rhama, a half-sister to Group 2 Premio Regina Elena winner Rumba Loca.

The horses in training section was topped by the multiple-winning King's Best filly Naucrate, who was knocked down to Maggio Di Vincenzo for €4,500.
