Daylami to stand at Coolagown Stud for 2010
MULTIPLE Group 1 winner Daylami has been transferred to Coolagown Stud in Fermoy, County Cork, for 2010 in a deal brokered by Michael Stanley of Castle Hill Bloodstock and Jehan Malherbe of Form Bloodstock.
The son of Doyoun will stand alongside Fleetwood and Humbel at a fee of €3,000.
Daylami was accorded a Racing Post Rating of 138 and won seven top-flight races between the agesof three and five, including the Poule d'Essai des Poulains, the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes and the Breeders' Cup Turf.
His Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe-winning half-brother Dalakhani is sire of dual Breeders' Cup Turf winner Conduit.
Daylami stood at the Aga Khan's Gilltown Stud in Ireland until 2006, when he was sold to stand at Riethuiskrael Stud in South Africa.
He is the sire of two Group 1 winners on the Flat, Irish Derby hero Grey Swallow and last year's Premio Roma scorer Voila Ici, and is damsire of Prix Morny winner Arcano.
He has shot to prominence as a jumps sire in recent seasons, supplying top young hurdler Zaynar, Supreme Novices' Hurdle winner Ebadiyan, Grade 2 Dovecote Novices' Hurdle scorer Pigeon Island and Italian Grade 1-winning hurdler Royal Mougins.
Coolagown Stud manager David Stack said: "With Mill Reef, Nasrullah, Mr Prospector and Buckpasser in his pedigree and a 69 per cent winners-to-runners strike rate with mares by Sadler's Wells and his sons, Daylami is a perfect cross with the abundance of Northern Dancer-line mares in Ireland."
Zaynar's trainer Nicky Henderson said: "These are good, tough horses who are easy to train, and I will be recommending my owner-breeders to use him."
