DOYEN is to move from Dalham Hall Stud to stand at Gestüt Auenquelle in Germany this season.
The nine-year-old son of Sadler's Wells won the Group 3 Prix du Lys at three and the Group 1 King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes and the Group 2 Hardwicke Stakes at four, earning the titles of Timeform horse of the year and European champion older horse.
Bred by Sheikh Mohammed, he is a brother to the Oaks winner Moonshell and the Group 2 Queen Elizabeth Stakes winner Hatha Anna. Their dam Moon Cactus (Kris) won the Group 3 Prestige Stakes and was second in the Group 1 Prix de Diane, and is a sister to the dual Group winner and sire Shining Steel.
Doyen,whose first crop are of racing age this year, retired to stud at a fee of £10,000 which was reduced to £7,000 for 2008. He was due to stand at £5,000 for 2009 at Dalham Hall and will stand at a fee of €5,000 (1st October) in Germany.
