Her victory in the European Breeders Fund Maiden Fillies Stakes landed her owners a £15,000 pay day - on top of the £5,180 winner's prize.

And just hours later at Tipperary the first Racing Post Yearling Bonus was landed in Ireland, meaning a total of £25,000 was paid out in one day from both schemes.

Penny's Pearl, a daughter of Royal Applause trained by Richard Hannon, became eligible for the £10,000 yearling bonus when sold for £15,000 at Doncaster last August, by consignor Meadowlands Stud.

Her eligibility for the breeze-up bonus was secured by her £30,000 purchase at Goffs' Kempton sale last month when consigned by Oaks Farm Stables. She was bought by agent Peter Doyle, whose purchases have landed a third of the nine yearling bonuses paid out so far, all trained by Hannon.

After landing the £15,000 payout, Malcolm Brown said: "This is just terrific, unbelievable really. We had a lotof luck with our previous horse Penny's Gift and it's great now to win two bonuses. It's definitely an incentive to go back to the sales and buy another horse." The Browns can land a further £5,000 breeze-up bonus if Penny's Pearl wins again,

The first Irish yearling bonus was landed by the Tommy Stack-trained Mr Mojito in the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders' Fund Maiden. , The son of Danehill Dancer was a £44,000 Doncaster buy consigned by Clare CastleStud. "The bonus is a super idea and has made one of our owners very happy," said Stack's son and assistant Fozzy, who signed for the yearling purchase.

Kimvara Vaughan, joint-owner of Mr Mojito, added: "It is a very good initiative, an excellent idea and a lovely bonus to get so we're all very happy after that."

Four of the six runners in the median auction at Dundalk tonight are eligible for the yearling bonus.
