Bargain purchase strikes for Stobart at Brighton

DIXIE'S Dream, who was knocked down to the BBA Ireland for only €1,000 as a foal, made it third time lucky in the colours of William Stobart when scoring by two-and-a-quarter lengths in the 6f maiden at Brighton on Tuesday.

The son of Hawk Wing was bred by Joan Murphy and offered for sale at the Goffs November Foal Sale through Woodfort Stud. Signed for on that occasion by the BBA Ireland, he returned to Goffs through Woodfort Stud the following autumn and sold to Dwayne Woods for €10,000.

A half-brother to Italian winner Super Market, he is out of the placed Dixie Union mare Hams, a half-sister to Grade 2 winner Desert Digger from the family of St Leger runner-up High Accolade.
